ENFANT DE LUNE 2021 – 1 DOZEN

Sourced from the famed Acacia Ridge vineyard in Frankland River in WA’s Great Southern region, this 100% cool climate Syrah was picked and meticulously handled from vineyard to winery; open fermented, hand plunged and co-fermented with a touch of Viognier skins and inoculated with a ‘Côte-Rôtie’ natural yeast strain before being racked into 20% new French barriques; 80% 1st and 2nd use French Barriques for malolactic fermentation and 20 months maturation in the same oak. The result is simply stunning – a beautifully crafted Syrah that will shine at your next BBQ!

LITTLE WING 2022 – 1 DOZEN

Our second vintage of Break Free Little Wing sees a change in region from the Great Southern (WA) to the higher altitude, cooler region of Adelaide Hills (SA).

Five tonnes of Shiraz were selected from a single vineyard with one tonne picked ‘whole-bunch’, destined for carbonic maceration – the other four tonne was gently crushed, open fermented for ten days giving the juice extraordinary bright purple colour. Both parcels were then blended and pressed before being racked into older French oak hogsheads for malolactic fermentation and seven months maturation. 5% of single vineyard Adelaide Hills was also picked and fermented in stainless steel to retain and preserve the floral aromatics, colour and vibrancy – making up the final blend before bottling, with no further adjustment, filtration or fining. The Little Wing Shiraz Noir Carbonic is the ultimate summer mixup – vibrant, juicy and super fresh – you can even serve it chilled!

PETITE BLANCS 2022 – 1 DOZEN

With a back-bone of Swan Valley Chenin Blanc, the free-run juice is stabilised in stainless steel with Margaret River Chardonnay and Frankland River Gewurztraminer skins are added and then fermented with a natural yeast culture.

Petite Blancs arouses the senses and beckons you to take the Silk Road and explore the cuisines that connect East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, East Africa and Southern Europe – a literal plethora of spices, produce, ingredients and cookery await you to match with our ‘all day white wine’!

Like all Break Free wines, there is no filtration or fining and minimal sulphur on bottling to keep the wine fresh and lively.

BLISS BOMB 2022 – 1 DOZEN

Pét-Nat is produced in the méthode ancestral, otherwise known as ‘rurale’, ‘artisanale’, or ‘gaillacoise’. In essence, the wine is bottled prior to fully completing its first fermentation, allowing carbon dioxide to be produced by the natural sugars found in the grapes. Unlike Champagne, Pét-Nat is not disgorged, and may or may not be filtered on completion of fermentation.

Our Pet-Nat is made from 100% Swan Valley (WA) Chenin Blanc from a single vineyard. Minimal use of both insectcides and pesticides, the fruit was picked for acidity rather than sugar levels and transported to Denmark for processing by Clandestine Vineyards contract winemaker Andrew Vesey at Castelli Estate. Cold pressed to preserve aromatics, the juice was fermented in one single stainless steel tank under it’s own wild yeast.

Just prior to fementing to dry, the wine was immediately bottled under crown cap with no further adjustment, filtration or fining to finish the last of the ferment in bottle, allowing for the light carbon dioxide to produce a light fizz.

PINOT GRIS 2023 – 1 DOZEN

Our first vintage of Clandestine Vineyards Pinot Gris is sourced from a single, cool climate vineyard from the King Valley, Victoria.

Cool climate Pinot Gris is cold- pressed to preserve brightness and aromatics. The free-run juice is stabilised in stainless steel before partial barrel fermentation and maturation in old French oak puncheons (on lees) for four months. Lightly fined and with minimal sulphites prior to bottling.

This Pinot Gris pays homage to Alsace, albeit with a King Valley accent – a perfect match with many Chinese, Indian and Mexican dishes, or try with pungent washed-rind cheeses like Morbier, Raclette, Taleggio, Munster and Livarot.

CABERNET FRANC 2022 – 1 DOZEN

Vibrant bright purple in colour, the wine itself is like crushing fresh cherries in your hands and drinking the juice! Trudy suggests chilling the bottle to experience the full spectrum of summer in the glass while soaking up those golden rays.

CHARDONNAY 2021 – 1 DOZEN

Bright with a light green hue, the bouquet is an enticing mix of flintstone, cashew and citrus, this follows onto the palate with grapefruit intensity and depth of flavour, held in check by tightly wound acidity. The oak plays its part in a supporting role, which allows for a long clean and delicious finish.
